SOUTHLAND BEATS SOUTH OTAGO
In a match played at Invercargill on Saturday night the Southland table tennis team beat South Otago by 27 sets, 60 games, to 18 sets, 41 games. W. Fogarty and E. McMillan were the best of the visiting players, each winning six singles matches. Four members of the Southland side won four singles games, and B. Hollander and D. Hamilton won their three doubles matches. During the evening, Mr R. Robson, president of the Southland Table Tennis Association, welcomed the visitors and thanked them for coming to Invercargill. He hoped that a return' match between Southland and South Otago would be played in Balclutha next season. Detailed results are: SINGLES S. Robson lost to W. Fogarty, 21-11, 14-21, 11-21; lost to E.
