Milk will mend broken china so that you can use it very day and wash it. Tie the broken part with string and put it into cold milk, allow it to come slowly to the boil and let it boil for two hours. Take it out and leave it to cool and set for 24 hours. Then 'untie the string and put the china nito everyday use again.. It is an especially satisfactory “mend” because washing the china in hot water tends to harden the joint still more.
