TRADE RETURNS TO NORMAL

(United Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 13. Although there was a marked fall-, ing off in business in Wellington for the first two or three days after the announcement of war, trade has picked up since then and is now back to normal.

The general attitude of customers seems to be that it. is their duty to carry on with their normal activities as much as possible. Picture theatres, which are usually one of the first types of business to suffer during a falling off in trade, are attracting normal business. For several days after the announcement of war, however, there were smaller audiences than usual for the time. Many persons were spending the evening at home listening to the news sessions; but now they prefer to go out for relaxation.
