PUBLIC SERVANTS ON ACTIVE SERVICE

PAYING SUPERANNUATION CONTRIBUTIONS (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, September 12. “Are the newspaper reports announcing the Government’s intention of paying the superannuation contributions of public servants who enlist and are accepted for service correct?” asked Mr S. G. Holland (Nat., Christchurch North) in giving notice of a question to the acting Prime Minister (the Hon. P. Fraser) in the House of Representatives this afternoon.

Mr Holland also asked whether it was the intention of the Government to pay the superannuation contributions and National Provident Fund contributions of those persons now in private employment but who were accepted for active service, and thus place all soldiers on the same basis as far as the expenditure of public moneys was concerned.
