MAORI WOMAN KILLED IN ACCIDENT
RUN OVER BY CAR DRIVEN BY BROTHER (Unitefl Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, September 12. A Maori woman, Mrs Waina Kinga, \aged about 70, was run over by a motor-car by Awarua Tamaha, her brother, at Taiporohenui today. Death was almost instantaneous. Tamaha, tribal chief of the district, was backing the car preparatory to taking his sister to ’Hawera, when the car ran over her. WOMAN DIES ON TRAIN (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, September 12. When the 1.36 p.m. train from Ravensbourne arrived in Dunedin this afternoon it was found that one of its passengers had died in the course of the short journey. This was Miss Mary Todd, aged 53, who resided with her sister in High street, Ravensbourne. An inquest will be held tomorrow morning at 9.30.
