RECONCILING WIFE AND HUSBAND

PROVISIONS CONTAINED IN NEW BILL

(From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, August 15.

Notice of his intention to introduce the Domestic Proceedings Bill was given in the House of Representatives today by the Attorney-General (the Hon. H. G. R. Mason). This measure provides for modification of the procedure in cases of applications for separation of married couples when made to a Magistrate. The Magistrate is empowered to refer such cases to some suitable person to effect reconciliation, and only after this effort has failed will separation be granted. All ancilliary procedure is provided for in the subsequent clauses.
