“ENTITLED TO SPECIAL CONSIDERATION”
NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIAN LOAN REQUIREMENTS
(United Press Association)
AUCKLAND, August 4.
“It does not appear to be fully appreciated in London that the financial records of Australia and New Zealand entitle them to special consideration in the matter of loans,” said Mr George Fitzpatrick, a Sydney business man on his arrival by the Monterey. The result of the recent Australian loan issue in London, when a large proportion of the stock was left in the underwriters’ hands was very disappointing, he said, and there was a feeling in some quarters that the criticisms by financiers against New Zealand’s policy were rather an excuse than a reason for not coming to the Dominion’s assistance.
