VERY LITTLE TO SAY (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 4. Mrs Walter Nash, wife of the Minister of Finance, arrived by the Monterey this morning. She had very little to say. “I had a lovely trip, but there is very little I can say,” she said. “It was my husband who went on business, not I.” She was enthusiastic over the hospitality of the English people, who had been very kind indeed. “I am glad to be home, though,” she added. Mrs Nash intends to remain in Auckland until the arrival of her husband from England, via America. Mr Nash’s private secretary, Mr T. R. Aitken, also returned by the Monterey, accompanied by his wife He said the Minister was extremely busy from the day of his 'arrival in London, meeting deputations, Ministers, groups of businessmen and others in connection with trade and financial discussions and attending important functions Brief visits were made to Dublin and Nottingham and also Mr Nash’s home town, Kidderminster, where Mr Nash met a group of carpet manufacturers, but he was unable to take part in social engagements. During negotiations the Minister was assisted by Dr R. M. Campbell, economic adviser on the staff of the High Commissioner and Mr R. Sunley, financial adviser in the Treasury branch of the High Commissioner’s Office.
