SERVICE TO HARBOUR BOARD PRAISED

LONG ASSOCIATION OF MR C. S. LONGUET

Reference to the valuable service given by Mr C. S. Longuet to the Bluff Harbour Board during his long term as a member was made at a meeting of the board when Mr Longuet’s resignafion was received. The following resolution was carried: “That the board convey to Mr C. S. Longuet an expression of its great regret at his retirement from the board after his very long and distinguished service as a member representing the combined district of the City of Invercargill and the Borough of South Invercargill from May 4, 1911, until his resignation in July 1939, and his service as chairman of the board for two years, 1925 to 1927; The members value verv highly his qualifications and the special knowledge he brought to the board table and the very capable manner in which he performed all the duties of his position as a board member.”
