Here is a coiffure with a centre part —wave short on either side. Then another wave from either ear upward to centre wave. At the back of each of these waves start pin curls upward and continue on around the back of head with two rows. Through the centre of the top make rolls over paper rollers from the end of the centre part through on to toe two rows of pin curls in toe back.

Today, no girl need have dish-water-coloured hair. Remember how many persons used to worry along with mousy-looking locks, dull, streaky hair that blotted out their personalities? Drab hair isn’t attractive at any time, and it fades the nicest girl into the

background. There are many hair colourings made today that are not harmful to the ham They have an oil base and merely add a touch of colour that brightens the hair and makes all the difference to a girl s appearance. I even use a brightener on my 14-year-old daughter’s hair to add a faint touch of auburn to her Iris Meredith had ash-blonde hair,

I used peroxide to lighten it, then added henna to brighten that, and now it is the colour of a new penny and catches all the wanted highlights for the camera. Very few persons are fortunate enough not to need colour in their hair, and some of the new preparations supply oil which acts as a treatment and beautifies it. Girls in pictures whose hair is very black or quite dark often use just a little peroxide around the hairline, in order to catch highlights and prevent that dead look in their hair. This is flattering for street wear, too. It looks as if you had been out in the sun a lot and your hair had been a trifle sunburned.
