CONCERT ON SUNDAY NIGHT

BIG CROWD EXPECTED IN CIVIC THEATRE An excellent programme, containing many spectacular and varied items, will be presented in the Civic Theatre on Sunday night. The concert is being held to assist the funds of the Civic and Caledonian Pipe Bands. Three bands will be seen at the concert, the Civic Band, the Caledonian Pipe Band and the Gaiety Dance Band. The full orchestra, under the leadership of Mr. S. Kingston, will open the programme and will be followed by selections by the Civic and Pipe Bands. Mr Kingston will then lead a community sing in which hymns will be sung. Cowboy melodies, with a guitar accompaniment, will be given by Messrs Wright, Brian and Meikle. A mandolin solo by Mr B. Duff, a song by Mr Kingston, a cornet duo by Messrs Storrie and Hunter and guitar

selections by Messrs W. Matthews and R. Matthews will follow. Miss Watt will give a piano-accordion solo and then the Gaiety Dance Band, the Hawaiian orchestra and the Dixon trio of Maor : singers will appear. A big attendance is expected as it is thought that many visitors will conclude the week-end at the concert.
