LONG-DISTANCE FLIGHT RECORD CLAIMED

(Received August 3, 7.10 p.m.) ROME, August 2.

A three-engined air force aeroplane claims a world record for a long distance closed circuit of 8036 miles in 57hr Usee, at an average speed of 140 a miles an hour. The circuit had triangular sides of 621 miles.

The Japanese held the previous record—724o miles.
