DESERTERS FROM GREEK SHIP

ORDER MADE FOR DEPORTATION (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 28. Two men whd deserted from a Greek ship at New Plymouth on May 15 came before the Court today on a charge of landing while being prohibited immigrants, and were ordered to be deported on the Greek ship Mari Chandris, now in port. The Magistrate took the view that the Court should do nothing to assist deserting seamen. It would be rather serious for New Zealand, he added later, to become the dumping ground for deserting seamen, as it was fast becoming for men of other nationalities.
