EFFECT OF ACTION TAKEN IN AUSTRALIA (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, June 28. The effect of the overseas funds on Australian imports was referred to by Mr C. A. Wilkinson (Ind., Egmont) in the House this afternoon when he gave notice of intention to ask the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) if the Government was aware that Australian manufacturers of steel, galvanized iron, wire netting, fencing wire and other necessary commodities had placed an embargo upon all further orders to New Zealand and to the New Zealand Government until full assurance ' was forthcoming that such shipments would be paid for in Australian currency? Did the Government realize the full implication of such an action upon th* New Zealand industry, he added.
