POPE HONOURS TWO WANGANUI MEN

SPECIAL DECORATIONS CONFERRED (United Press Association) WANGANUI, June 27. In recognition of then - work for the Roman Catholic Church during a period of more than 25 years Pope Pius has conferred the special decoration medal Benemerents on two Wanganui men, Messrs J. L. Carmody and Eugene Provost. The decorations will be presented by the Metropolitan of New Zealand, Archbishop O’Shea, at a charity ball in Wanganui tomorrow night. Both men are well-known members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
