SUCCESSFUL BALL AT RIVERTON

SAILING CLUB’S ANNUAL FUNCTION

The annual ball held under the auspices of the Sailing Club was held at More’s hall, Riverton, which was decorated with masses of foliage intertwined with coloured streamers and balloons. There was a big attendance, including visitors from all parts of the Western District, and both socially and financially the function was a big success. The orchestral stand was built to resemble a sailing ship. Extras were played by Mr F. Davis (Invercargill)

and Mr Ray Henry (Riverton). Messrs J. W. Greer and G. L. Patrick were masters of ceremonies. During the evening a lucky spot waltz was held, the winners being Miss H. Marshall and Mr J. Linton.
