Yield of Friesian

Wyoming Betty Echo, the mature Friesian which produced more than 10001 b of butter in a nine months’ test concluded recently in New South Wales, is a splendid example of the result of breeding for productivity. Her dam, Alne Bank Pontiac Echo, was in 1937 declared to be the second heaviest yielding Friesian under official test in all stages. In that year Pontiac Echo completed a 273 day’s test, producing 20,8041 b of milk for 750.351 b of butterfat, and concluded her 365-day test with 26,0231 b of milk for 942,111 b of butterfat. Wyoming Betty Echo’s figures for 273 days were 21,0211 b of milk for 833.951 b of butterfat. She is owned by Mr A. S. R. Shearer, of Wyoming, Singleton.
