A SAFER CORNER

To The Editor Sir, —Please allow me to congratulate the City Council on the vast improvement it has carried out to the corner of Elies road and Yarrow street. This “accident-prone” corner is now much safer and visibility is much better. While on this matter I should also like to commend the action of the two citizens at this corner who gave the land for roading to the council free, so that the corner may be made safer for traffic. Such public-spirited citizens deserve the thanks of every road user in Invercargill, be he motorist, cyclist or pedestrian.—Yours, etc., LOOK OUT BEFORE YOU STEP OUT. June 19, 1939.
