Passing Showers (Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, June 11. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland, issued by the meteorological office, Wellington;— Strong southwesterly or southerly winds. Weather changeable, with passing showers and in places hail, but improving inland. Temperatures cold, with some sharp frosts. Seas rough. Following is the Dominion forecast: Weather changeable, with rain at times in most districts; thunder and hail in places; improving from the west tomorrow. Temperatures cold, with frost in places. General Situation.—Pressure is still low over the Dominion but an extensive anti-cyclone is advancing across the Tasman Sea. Winds.—Southwest to southerly prevailing, moderate to strong generally and reaching gale force in some exposed positions. Seas.—New Zealand waters, rough to very rough on the west coast; moderate but later rising on the east coast; Eastern Tasman Sea, strong southwesterly winds to gales and rough seas, with heavy swell but gradually moderating from the west.
