LIVELY TOPICS TO BE CONSIDERED

(United Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 10. The National Dairy Association’s conference opens on June 28 in Wellington. Among lively topics to be considered are the costs of production, mainly labour, and the guaranteed prices for butter and cheese. A remit about costs will draw the Government’s attention to their serious effect on the industry. Concerning guaranteed prices a motion will be moved that the price for 1939-40 be the price recommended by the Advisory Committee for season 1938-39— 15.603 d per lb, for butter, plus all known added costs. A Cambridge remit also asks what action the dairy companies propose to take should the Government not accede to the above. A Maungaturoto motion will strongly oppose any suggestion of a change in the personnel of the Advisory Committee.
