RETURNED SOLDIERS’ CLUB ROOMS
OFFICIAL OPENING THIS AFTERNOON The returned soldiers’ new club rooms at Bluff will be officially opened this afternoon, the ceremony beginning at 3 o’clock. Returned soldiers will meet at the Drill Hall at 2.30 p.m. and will march to the club rooms. The Battalion Band will be in attendance. The new premises will be opened by the Mayor of Bluff (Mr John Cameron). Other speakers who will be associated with him are the Mayor of Invercargill (Mr J. R. Hanan), Mr J. Hargest, M.P., the Hon. T. F. Doyle, M.L.C., the president of the Bluff Sub-Association (Mr N. W. McGorlick), Mr John Tait, representing the Invercargill Returned Soldiers’ Association, and Mr A. Wachner, of Invercargill. . A social and dance will be held in Barber’s Hall tonight. . The two billiard tables which the sub-association has purchased for the building were unloaded from the Waiana at Bluff yesterday. MAGISTRATE’S COURT (Before the Hon. T. F. Doyle, M.L.C., and Mr D. E. S. Mason, J.P.s.) Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in each case when Alexander Stuart McKay (Mr K. G.
