Trick Mule Target
You can have hours of fun shooting at this trick mule target. The mule stands on top of a cabinet, sawn out of plywood and about Ift long. The head and the hind quarters are pivoted on Jin bolts.

so that the mule can kick up his heels and toss his head. The small illustration shows you how the puppet works. Below the mule, in the face of the cabinet, is a small bull’s-eye. A circle of about 2in diameter is the right size. If the marksman can hit this bull’s eye. the mule kicks up his heels and tosses his head. This is a fairly simple toy to make. Look at the large illustration and you will see that the
trigger from under the hinged trapdoor, the weight drops and the mule kicks. It is a good idea to suspend the weight on a piece of elastic, so that as the weight drops the elastic stretches, then recoils several times, making the mule repeat his kicking.
