BADMINTON Playing at Winton in a C grade badminton competition match Britannia beat Winton by eight sets to four. Results, with Winton names first, were:— Women’s Doubles.—Mrs P. Reynolds and Miss I. Lindsay lost to Misses N. Rodger and M. Gardner, 8-15, 3-15; Misses J. McCrostie and M. Bennett lost to Misses Aspray and M. Rodger, 3-15, 15-11, 1-15; Misses M. Grimwood and J. Wood lost to Mrs Muirhead and Miss B. Fraser, 1-15, 2-15. Men’s Doubles.—J. Wood and F. McKenzie beat Sherriffs and Warick, 12-15, 15-5, 15-6; F. Rawle and R. Scully beat Hansley and McPherson, 15-14, 16-14; V. Pollock and J. Proctor lost to Chernside and Oliver, 11-15, 7-15. Mixed Doubles.—McKenzie and Mrs Reynolds lost to Warwick and Miss Fraser, 4-15, 10-15; Wood and Miss Lindsay beat Sherriffs and Miss Gardner, 15-8. 15-8; Rawle and Miss McCrostie beat Hansley and Miss N. EUCHRE The women’s prize at the weekly euchre tournament of the Winton Returned Soldiers’ Association was won by Mrs McCullough, of Spar Bush, who beat Miss M. Burke in a play-off.
