LORRY DRIVER FINED SUM OF £l9

(United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, June 9.

Fines totalling £l9, with costs, were imposed upon Richard Cheyne, by Mr H. A. Young, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court when Cheyne was charged on two counts of driving a motor-truck without a warrant of fitness when he was not the holder of a driver’s licence and when he was prohibited from holding a licence. Constable Leith said Cheyne had been convicted in February last for being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car and was .prohibited from holding a licence for 18 months. On the first charge of driving without a licence Cheyne was fined £lO, and £5 on the second, and on each of the charges of having no warrant of fitness he was fined £2. (
