COUNCIL RE-FORMED IN INVERCARGILL

HORTICULTURAL TRADES ASSOCIATION The Invercargill Council of the New Zealand Horticultural Trades Association was re-formed at a meeting of Invercargill and Gore merchants on Tuesday night. The council has not functioned in Southland for several years but, with its re-formation, the association’s activities are now extended throughout New Zealand. The merchants were addressed by Mr T. D. Lennie, of Christchurch, and the following officers were elected: Chairman, Mr W. McChesney; secrjtary, Mr Victor Gaston; committee, one member from each affiliated firm. The council will meet every month and matters affecting the trade will be discussed.
