DATE BREAD 3 cups (12oz) flour. 6 teaspsoons baking powder. 1 teaspoon salt. 2oz sugar. 1 egg. 3 tablespoons butter. 1 cup chopped dates. cups milk. Soak dates in milk for one hour. Sift dry ingredients into a bowl. Beat the egg, and add to dates and milk. Pour liquid into hole in centre of dry ingredients. Stir in ever-widening circles. Add melted butter.
