There will not be the customary carriage procession from Windsor, Castle when the meeting opens on June 13, but on each of the three days the Duke and Duchess will be present with a party to give that Royal touch j to Ascot without which much of the meeting’s traditional charm would be lost. The Duchess also attended the private view of the Chelsea Flower Show instead of the King and Queen, and on Derby Day, May 24, she went to Epsom with the Duke. June brings a crowd of debutante parties, charity ls, film premieres, agricultural shows, regimental and Empire society dinners, luncheons, and concerts.
