FUNCTION AT BROWNS

DEPARTING RESIDENTS ENTERTAINED

A large and representative gathering in the Browns Hall last week bad farewell to Mr and Mrs D. Irwin, who are leaving the district. Mr T. Mcßae was chairman and he apologized for the absence of Mr D. Anderson, who is at present in Cairnsmore Hospital. Other speakers during the evening were Messrs P. Kerr, C. Robb and E. Frisby. Mr and Mrs Irwin were piped to the stage by Mr H. Gilmour. In making a presentation of a wallet, Mr Mcßae expressed regret -at Mr and Mrs Irwin’s departure. Mr Irwin replied. Music for dancing was supplied by Mrs W. G. Woods and Mr D. Brown, assisted by Messrs H. Gilmour and J. Wilson. Mr R. Hardy was master of ceremonies. Among those present were: Mr and Mrs D.
