BOARD CARRIES OUT INSPECTION ME McGREGOE APPOINTED CHAIRMAN Before beginning the annual meeting at Bluff yesterday, members of the Bluff Harbour Board made a tour of inspection of the various works. A visit was paid to Stirling Point, where the board' inspected the two new leading beacons on the Davey Bank. One, the near dolphin, has been completed and the rear beacon is still under construction. The party then visited the Bluff Hill, where the new reservoir is under construction. An inspection was also made of the board’s undertakings on the wharf. Members expressed satisfaction generally with the progress being made. The annual meeting was held during the afternoon. There were present: Mr W. A. Ott (chairman), Mr John Cameron, Sir Robert Anderson, the Hon. T. F. Doyle, M.L.C., and Messrs C. B. Tapley, W. J. A. McGregor, G. Wraytt, W. M. Norman, C. S. This was being done at the present time and it was hoped to have honorary rangers appointed to see that the regulations were carried out. It was decided that the chairman’s honorarium be £l5O, as formerly. Mr McGregor was appointed chairman for the ensuing year. Tributes to the excellent service Mr Ott had given during the past six years as chairman were paid by the board. After the meeting the officers, fiddressing the board, expressed appreciation of Mr Ott’s treatment of the. staffs and praised his qualities as a chairman. The speakers were the secretary (Mr R. N. Porter), the harbourmaster (Captain N. B. W. Haszard) and the engineer (Mr D. E. S. Mason). Mr Ott replied. PERSONAL Reference to the loss of Mr W.
