BRITISH CENSUS OF WOOL STOCKS

EXTENT OF SUPPLIES TO BE ASCERTAINED LONDON, May 22. On Saturday the British Government will take a census of wool stocks and tops, marking the end of the British buying period for the Australian and New Zealand season. The Board of Trade does not expect any immediate national emergency nor is the Government ‘buying reserves; it is simply ascertaining the extent of supplies because of the unsettled conditions.

Last year’s census included machinery and stock, which is now unnecessary.
