RECORD RECRUITING FOR R.A.F.

(British Official Wireless) (Received May 16, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, May 15

A total of 1149 recruits entered the Royal Air Force in the past week compared with 494 in the corresponding period last year. This is a record entry, and for the third week in succession the numbers entered exceeded the 1000 mark. It brings the total entry of pilots, observers, aircraftsmen and boys since April 1 up to 5065 compared with 1965 in the corresponding period last year.
