NATIONAL MEMORIAL IN LONDON

TRIBUTE TO FOUNDERS OF NEW ZEALAND (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 15. A proposal to erect a national historical memorial in the heart of London to the founders of New Zealand was referred to in an interview with Mr D. Hope Johnston, of London, who came to the Dominion five months and a-half ago to seek official approval of the plan and, if possible, find a New Zealand resident prepared to give the memorial. Mr Johnston, who is leaving for London tomorrow, said the Government had approved the proposal, but he had been unable to find a New Zealander prepared to undertake the considerable outlay involved. However, he hoped on his return to London to find someone who would make the completion of the memorial possible.
