WRECK OF LUGGER NEAR DARWIN

PRIVATIONS OF CREW OF FOUR BRISBANE, May 14. A message from Darwin brought by fishermen says that the four men whose lugger was wrecked a fortnight ago on Horseshoe Reef, about 50 miles southwest of Darwin, are now at Point Charles suffering seriously from the privations they have endured. One is blinded by sand-blight. From the meagre details available it appears that the men were sailing the lugger from Broome to Darwin when it was wrecked. The men, who lost all their provisions, made their way to Grose Island and eventually staggered on to a farm near Point Charles. ABORIGINES THROWN INTO CHOPPY SEA BRISBANE, May 14. Four aborigines are believed to have perished when a launch capsized off Palm Island, an aboriginal settlement. A party of 10, comprising seven men and three boys, was aboard when the boat overturned in a choppy sea. The survivors swam three miles to land.
