MOTORIST SENT TO PRISON
CAUSING DEATH WHILE INTOXICATED (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, May 13. Two years’ imprisonment and disqualification for holding a motor driving licence for 10 years was the sentence of Mr Justice Blair in the Supreme Court this morning upon William Jaggar, who was found guilty by a jury of causing death through reckless driving while intoxicated. WOOL BUYER INTOXICATED IN CHARGE OF CAR (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 13. Arrested on the night of May 4 after a collision on Grafton Bridge, Auckland, Cecil Philpott Crespin, aged 26, a wool buyer, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court with being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor-car. Counsel entered a plea of guilty. Mr F. H. Levien, S.M., sentenced Crespin to seven days’ imprisonment, and disqualified him from driving for two years.
