GORE CRIPPLED CHILDREN SOCIETY
EASTERN SOUTHLAND BRANCH
At the May meeting of the Eastern Southland sub-branch of the Crippled Children Society advice was received from the Southland Education Board that the request of the sub-branch for school transport facilities for a country patient had been acceded to. Those present at the meeting were: Messrs J. Harper (president), W. B. Johnston, W. D. Shelton, and Dr R. G. Stokes, and Mesdames R. H. Newman, D. M. Cochrane and Misses M. MacGibbon and M. Paterson. The emergency sub-committee reported having authorized treatment which had been medically recommended since last meeting and its action was confirmed. BASKETBALL The following are the Eastern Southland basketball fixtures for tomorrow, names of referees also being shown:— A Grade:—Gore v. Ex-High at hostel, 2 p.m. (Mrs Tither); Smiths v. St. Patrick’s at hostel, 2.45 p.m. (Mrs Tither); McKenzies v. Mataura at hostel, 3.30 p.m. (Mr Hardy). B Grade:—Pukerau v. High School at High School, 3 p.m. (Miss King); ExHigh v. Gore at hostel, 2 p.m. (Miss White); Mataura v. Waikaka Valley at hostel, 2.45 p.m. (Miss Harold); Waikaka a bye. GOLF The draw of the Gore Golf Club for the May medal match to be played tomorrow is as follows, fours to be arranged at the links:—McGregor v. Price; Atkins v. Doughty; Crosbie v. Thom; Hawke v.
