WOMEN’S DIVISION
TUATAPERE BRANCH At the annual meeting of the Tuatapere branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union Mrs A. Norman was chairman. The president. Miss McEwan, reported on the years’ work, and the treasurer, Mrs R. Scott, reac the balance-sheet, which showed a satisfactory credit. The following office-bearers were elected:—President, Miss McEwan (reelected); secretary, Mrs R. M, Erskine (re-elected); treasurer, Mrs R. Scott (re-elected); vice-presidents, Mesdames F. Harrison, H. D. Norman and D. Whyte; advisory members. Mesdames R. Scott and F. Harrison; auditor. Mrs H. D. Norman; working committee, Mesdames J. A. Young, A. Simm, V. Harrison, J. A. Bennett, A. Tomlinson, Miss C. McEwan and Miss M. McKerchar; reporter, Mrs V. Harrison. The secretary was asked to convey messages of sympathy to several members and friends who had suffered recent bereavements.
A message of congratulation was sent to Mrs McDonald on reaching her eighty-ninth birthday. The best bloom competition for the year was won by Mrs D. Whyte. Mrs J. A. Young was second. The best bloom competition for the day was won by Mrs W. Low. Mrs F. Harrison was second. Judging was done by votes of members and points recorded each month for most points during the year.
Four new members were welcomed to the meeting.
