The Life Of A Pair Of Gloves Is Fixed By Care

The length of time a pair of gloves will wear depends very much upon how you put them on. This is especially true of kid gloves. Care should be taken when putting on any kind of new gloves for the first time. Take your time over the fitting of gloves, and be sure your hands are quite dry and cool and clean. If they are sticky with perspiration the gloves will not go on easily. If your hands are inclined to be moist, dust them with a. little plain rice powder. In any case, it is a good plan to do this before putting on a new pair of gloves. When actually putting on the gloves, work your fingers well down before you put in your thumb, then work the thumb in slowly and finally the rest of the hand. Glove stretchers will always enable you to get your gloves on easily. A good substitute is a pair of scissors wrapped with cotton-wool or tape around the ends of the blades to prevent them cutting the gloves.-Push the scissors down a glove finger and then open them. Care is also required when taking off gloves. Gently ease one finger off at a time. If your, hands are hot or moist, pull the gloves off wrong side out, so that the moisture has a chance to evaporate. When they are dry, turn them again, smooth them into shape, and then lay them flat in a box or drawer.
