PLANT FOR NEW POWER STATION

EQUIPMENT ORDERED FROM BRITAIN (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 13. Orders have been placed by the Public Works Department with Metropolitan Vickers for the generating plant and associated equipment to be installed in the new power station at Waikaremoana, two and a-half miles below the existing station. The main items are two 28,000 h.p. turbines of the English Electric Company and two 22,200 KVA Metropolitan Vickers generators.
