SHEEP SELL WELL AT WINTON YARDING OF 3500 FORWARD The yarding of rriore than 3500 sheep at the Winton stock sale yesterday consisted mostly of one-year ewes, which sold well up to late rates. Two-tooth ewes were in ready demand, although nothing of outstanding quality was orfering. Fat lambs sold from 18/10 to 23/9, fat ewes from 8/9 to 13/3 and fat wethers from 18/6 to 22/-. Ewe lambs made from 16/7 to 23/4 and wethsr lambs from 14/10 to .17/4. Top price for two-tooth ewes was 32/9, other prices being 31/7, 31, 6 and 21/3. Two-tooth ewes made up to 31/3, other lines making 30/1, 30/- and 25/-, with poorer sorts selling down to 20/-. Soundmouth ewes were sought and brought up to 21/-, other sorts making 17/-. There was a strong yarding of full and failing-mouth ewes and these made up to 13/-, other sorts selling down to 8/-, with failers making from 5/- to 7/-. Ewe lambs sold very well and realized up to 21/9, other lines selling from 18/- to 20/3. Wether lambs brought up to 17/4. Sales were:—

SHEEP YARDING AT WYNDHAM COMPETITION FOR BREEDING EWES There was a yarding of 5000 sheep at the Wyndham stock sale yesterday and, with the exception of a few pens of store sheep, the quality was not up to the standard of previous yardings. There was a good attendance o' buyers and bidding was keen for good breeding ewes. The top price for two-tooths reached 29/-. Full-mouth ewes were not so keenly sought, with the best price for Eve-year-olds being 13/-. Dairymen’s lines brought up to 14/- and indifferent sorts from 6/- to 9/-, the latter being hard to place.

Because of the abundance ol feed at this time of the year, store lambs were keenly sought, the better sorts selling it from 14/- to 17/9, which was an advance from 1/- to 1/6 on -scent values. There were only a few small pens of store wethers yarded ■ 1 these sold under good competition at late rates. Good fat lambs were only yarded in small numbers and realized from 19/to 22/-. Fat ewes and /ethers showed an advance of 1/- to 2/- a head. There was a medium yarding of good fat cattle, but because of the absence of buyers these declined up to 30/a head on late values. MIXED YARDING FORWARD AT OREPUKI Ewes and lambs made up the bulk of the yarding at the Orepuld stock sale yesterday. Thirteen dairy ©ws sold at £6 and pigs were sold at 17'-, 11/6 and 15/-. J. R.
