HYDATIDS DISEASE

METHOD OF PREVENTION DISCUSSED (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 22. The compulsory use of arecoline hydrobromide as a preventive of hydatids was discussed by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Mr H. F. Herbert (Canterbury) had stated that more explicit instructions were to be given to dog owners about the method of administering the drug. Dr Bennett, of the Department of Hydatid Research and Prevention, had stated that a lot of trouble arose from giving doses that were too large as the instructions were not quite clear on the point. Sheep dogs and working dogs needed two tablets, ordinary nonworking dogs one and small dogs only half a tablet.
