RIVERTON
SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC The annual Sunday school picnic of the Riverton Presbyterian Church was held at the pilot reserve. There was a big attendance of children and their parents. The picnic arrangements were in the hands of the Sunday school superintendent (Mr A. H. Calder) and the Sunday school teachers. Games and races were held on the beach during the day and the younger children were each presented with a gift. Sweets and apples were distributed to all present. The races resulted as follows:—Girls 5-7: T. Turner 1, B. McMurtrie 2, M. Stuart 3. Boys 5-7: S. Mennall 1, T. Spears 2, R. Frew 3. Girls 7-9: G. Turner 1, J. Mcßae 2. Boys 7-9: J. Spears 1, B. Helm 2, G. McLelland 3. Girls 9-11: J. Mclntyre 1, S. Hogg 2, M. Martin 3. Boys 9-11: D. Walker 1, J. Stuart 2, Frew 3. Girls 11-13: D. Foster 1, L. Smyth 2, D. Mennall 3. Boys 11-13: L. Dickson 1, L. Hodgkinson 2. Junior Bible class girls: P. Armstrong 1, I. Clarke 2. Junior Bible class boys: M. Turner 1, B. Patrick 2. Girls’ threelegged race: L. Smyth and J. Clarke 1, J. Mclntyre and R. Evans 2, P, Armstrong and D. Foster 3. Boys’ 1 threelegged race: L. Hodgkinson and W. Turner 1, B. Mcßae and B. Patrick 2, S. Evans and G. McLelland 3.
