ODD FELLOWS MEET IN INVERCARGILL
81-ANNUAL SESSION OF ORDER The forty-seventh bi-annual session of the Independent Ordei - of Oda Fellows of New Zealand was opened in the United Friendly Societies’ hall yesterday morning. The session was presided over by the Grand Master (Bro. H. J. Clark, of Timaru) and attended by 33 delegates, representative of districts from Auckland to Bluff. The executive is as follows: —G.M. Bro. H. J. Clark, D.G.M. Bro. G. F. Rudkin, G.W. Bro. A. Wilson, G.S. Bro. R. E. Sligo, G.T. Bro. L. Deans Ritchie and I.P.G.M. Bro. A. J. Guy. A civic reception was given to the visiting delegates to the session by the Mayor (Mr J. R. Hanan) and the Deputy-Mayor (Mr J. R. Martin) in the Council Chambers. After the welcome by the Mayor, G.M. Bro. H. J. Clark replied. It was mentioned that Mr Martin was a P.G. of the order. On Monday evening the officers were welcomed at a function in the United Friendly Societies’ hall. Last evening the visitors were entertained at a picture theatre. The session will resume today at 9.15 a.m.
