H.M.S. LEANDER TO GO TO AUSTRALIA

COMBINED EXERCISES AT JERVIS BAY

WELLINGTON, March 21.

From April 17 to April 28, H.M.S. Leander, of the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy, will take part in gunnery and torpedo exercises with the Royal Australian Navy. The Leander’s itinerary was announced this evening by the Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones). The Leander, which will leave Auckland for Hauraki Gulf on March 30, will sail for Australia on April 1. She is due at Sydney on April 5. The cruiser will go to Jervis Bay on April 17 for gunnery and torpedo exercises and return to Sydney 11 days later. The Leander will leave Sydney on its return to New Zealand on May 2, being due at Auckland on May 6.
