PORTION OF SCHOOL DESTROYED

OUTBREAK OF FIRE AT TE KUITI (United Press Association) TE KUITI, March 20. Fire completely destroyed the central block of the Te Kuiti primary school buildings this morning, five classrooms, the headmaster’s study, containing records and equipment, and the teachers’ room. The fire was well under way when noticed and nothing was saved. The brigade prevented the flames from spreading to the adjoining block of buildings, although handicapped by low water pressure. It was a very spectacular blaze which swept rapidly through the old wooden building. Temporary arrangements will have to be made for classes.
