FAREWELL PARTY TO POPULAR MEMBER

MRS W. J. ROBERTSON HONOURED The members of the Waikiwi branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union recently met to bid farewell to one of their oldest members, Mrs W. J. Robertson, who, with her husband, the Rev. W. J. Robertson, has since left the district The president, on behalf of the branch, expressed regret at Mrs Robertson’s going and asked her to accept a small token as a memento from the branch. Several other members also spoke, endorsing the president’s remarks. Mrs Robertson replied. Mrs France sang two solos and Miss O’Kane played a violin solo. After tea had been served competitions were held which resulted as follows:—Competition No. 1, Miss Nees; competition No. 2, Mrs W. J. Robertson; competition No. 3. Mrs Smart; while Mrs Pedler won the lucky seat, and Mrs Waters the lucky cup. Old Lang Syne was sung at the conclusion of the afternoon.
