SEAMAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

(United Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, March 14. Charges of assaulting Joseph Halligan and using obscene language in a public place were made against a seaman on the Port Denison, Matthew Mac Neill, in the Magistrate’s Court today. He admitted the charge of using obscene language, but a remand for a week was granted on the assault charge, on the application of the police because the extent of the injuries to Halligan was not known.
