SALVATION ARMY OFFICIAL
COMMISSIONER CUTHBERT’S SERVICE (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 14. Commissioner David Cuthbert has arrived at Wellington by the Wanganella on Salvation Army business. He has spent 54 years in the army and he said he had assisted General Evangeline Booth when she was a captain in London, when it was a common experience for them to be pelted while conducting open-air meetings. His present tour is being undertaken on her behalf. Commissioner Cuthbert retired last October, his last position being that of managing director of the Salvation Army Assurance Society. He returned to active army work at the request of the General and will visit Canada after spending a week in New Zealand.
