TEST CARRIED ON TO TENTH DAY EDRICH MAKES RECORD AT DURBAN DURBAN, March 13. Gibb after 451 minutes Subsequently a rising ball got W. J. Edrich, who was in top form and gave a chanceless innings, lasting 436 minutes, during which he hit 25 fours. Edrich, with 219, made a new individual record for England in Test matches against South Africa. The previous best was Jack Hobbs’s 211 at Lord’s in 1924. Scores:— SOUTH AFRICA
