FRESH DEMANDS AT SHANGHAI
JAPANESE ATTITUDE TO FOREIGNERS REQUEST FOR IMPROVED POLICE ACTION (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Received March 13, 8.5 p.m.) SHANGHAI, March 13. Fu Sin-den, Mayor of the Japanese part of Shanghai, has made the following demands:— (1) Better policing of the International Settlement. (2) The reopening of the police station which Britain closed. (3) House-to-house searches for communists. (4) The surrender of the land office files. (5) A ban on the flying of the Kuomintang and Chinese national flags. CLASH IN MANCHUKUO JAPANESE PROTEST TO MOSCOW (Received March 13, 7.10 p.m.) TOKYO, March 12. A skirmish in Manchukuo resulted in the Japanese ejecting 70 Russians from Japanese territory. The Russians lost heavily and four Japanese were wounded. Japan has protested to Moscow.
