QUEEN’S PARK CLUB ( • OPENS SEASON MIXED FOURSOMES PLAYED I The Queen’s Park Golf Club opened its season with a mixed foursomes medal handicap on Saturday afternoon. There was a big attendance of members and visitors, and as the weather was all that could be desired and the links have never been in better order, an auspicious start to the new season was made. In declaring the season open, the newly-elected president, Mr G. R. Milward, extended a warm welcome to all and expressed his pleasure at seeing so many visitors from other clubs. With the links in such splendid order and keenness among the members, he thought they could look forward to another successful season. Mr Milward presented the prizes to the winners of the mixed foursomes handicap, Miss I. Russell and E, H. Ball, who had the very good net score of 68. Mr E. E. ACTIVITIES OF TEAMS REVIEWED

OLD BOYS FOOTBALL CLUB’S ANNUAL REPORT The membership of the club is approximately the same as the last two years, which is very satisfactory and shows that there is much interest in the activities of the various teams, states the annual report of the Old Boys Football Club.

“Teams were entered in four grades and congratulations are due to the fourth grade team on its splendid win of its section of the competition, suffering only one defeat during the season. Other grades played well up to standard, but were handicapped by lack of training facilities to accommodate the big attendances at piactices, and injuries which necessitated the senior teams calling on the lower teams for emergencies. “The club obtained third place in the aggregate points competition for the season with a total of 4.79 points. The club’s congratulations are extended to A. W. Wesney on being selected in the New Zealand, South Island and Southland teams, also to the following who represented the club in the Southland team—C. Milne, T. Mackie, W. L. Crawford, E. Gumbley. The club thanks the coaches, Messrs J. K. Clark, E. P. Hawke, D. Dyer and F. Dillon for their services as coaches to the various teams, also the High Schools Board for making available the school gymnasium for training purposes, and all others who have in any way assisted the club during the year.”
